Spectra Cine Candela II - A - Illuminance Photometer. Model C-2010 EL-A. aka SpectraCine The Compact digital illuminance Photometer provides an easy, economical means of making highly accurate measurement of indoor and outdoor light levels. The Spectra Candela II-A Photometer is the most comprehensive, technologically advanced, reliable photometer using advanced microcomputer technology, sealed hybrid integrated circuitry with large digital back-lit liquid crystal display and memory function for high accuracy light measurement. The Spectra Cine Candela II-A Photometer is designed for simple one-handed convenience. Simply pressing one push button enables the light level to be measured and displayed on a easy to read digital LCD, which reads out directly from 0.1 to 70,000 footcandles and 1 to 100,000 lux ; a range which encompasses illumination levels from dim indoor lighting to extremely bright sunlight. The Candela II-A Photometer can also store and recall up to two readings with the memory/recall function whereas Candela II - A can also measure footcandles, lux and instantly calculates Contrast Ratio, Averaging and can also store upto 2 readings. Measurement results displayed on Electroluminescent backlit Custom LCD. For highest accuracy, the Spectra Cine Candela II-A Illuminance Photometer has a high sensitivity silicon cell and computer - selected glass photopic filter (to match the CIE eye response). The Calibration of Spectra Candela II-A Illuminance Photometer is traceable to National Institute Of Standard Technology (NIST). The Spectra Candela II-A Illuminance Photometer is available with a mounted swivel head and or a detachable sensor head with up to fifteen feet of cable extension. For Ultra low light level measurements, the Spectra Candela II-A Photometer is also available with an extremely sensitive sensor, which has a range from 0.01 footcandles to 7000 footcandles. LIGHT SENSOR :Silicon Photovoltaic cell and computer selected glass photopic filter to match the CIE eye response. MEASURING RANGE : One million to One Direct reading Multiple Range Linear Circuit controlled by microcomputer. Illuminance : footcandles 0.1 to 70,000 and 1 to 100,000 lux Footcandles 0.01 to 7,000 with optional sensitive sensor head. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS : Memory Store and Recall function for Candela II.. Averaging, Contrast Ratio function for Candela II - A. Calibration is traceable to the National Institute Of Standard Technology. Candela II meters are supplied with a field carrying case, Photodisc, battery, neck strap, instructional manual and warranty card. Warranty : One year limited warranty. Cosine Receptor: A Cosine Receptor is designed to collect all illuminance falling on a surface from all sources within a hemisphere above the surface, and apply attenuating factor based on the angle of incidence. When used with the Candela II the photometer gives correct illumance readings from all sources regardless of angle of incidence. Cosine Correction:As a beam of light is tilted so that it strikes a surface at an angle, the area covered by the beam increases. Since the amount of light in the beam remains constant, the illumination on the surface decreases. This decrease is proportional to the cosine of the angle, which the incident beam makes with a perpendicular to the surface. The meter reading of a fully cosine-corrected light meter represents the true illumination of the light receiver regardless of the angle from which the light approaches. When the light detector at an angle, the reading on the light meter should equal the reading that would occur if the light meter were held perpendicular to the rays of light, multiplied by the cosine of the angle of incidence on the meter detector. Cosine correction is accomplished by using a specially designed white molded plastic diffuser receptor. The diffuser provides cosine correction to a high degree of refinements; thus the detector correctly evaluates the light intensity regardless of direction. Spectral Response: Computer selected glass filters are designed to match the meter's detector response to the CIE photopic response (human eye response), which defines the eye's sensitivity to color. The combined spectral response is the product of the filter's transmission and the spectral responsivity of the detector.
