Schneider Optics 4 x 4" MPTV Platinum IRND 0.9 Water White Glass Filter

The Schneider Optics 4 x 4 Platinum Infrared Neutral Density Filter 0.9 are a combination of both an infrared control filter and a neutral density filter. There is a neutral density filter for darkening of the entire image in order to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The IR control filtration is specifically designed for use with CCD or CMOS sensors in order to filter out infrared light pollution causing color shifts that are commonly associated with high definition recording. By using this control filter you can achieve a wider color gamut and stronger color fidelity, especially noticeable in the shadows and darker regions of the image.

These filters are free of off-axis color shift regardless of the focal length of the lens and can be stacked together for higher degrees of neutral density without creating reflections common to dichroic filters. The 0.3 density provides a 1 stop reduction in light from entering the lens. The filter measures 4 x 4" / 101.6 x 101.6mm and is compatible with the Cokin Z-Pro or Schneider filter holder.

IRND filters limit the light striking the camera's CCD or CMOS imager to the visible spectrum. By carefully calculating the cutoff frequency in nanometers, we have been able to produce a near-infrared cut filter that lets users of high definition cameras get the most out of their camera gear. This means the benefit of an extended color gamut without the worry of unwanted false colors. Eliminating the near-infrared light leakage lets the camera maintain true color rendition in the blacks while maintaining high MTF of its lenses and camera system. Schneider Platinum Series IRND filters are free of off-axis color shift regardless of the focal length and can be stacked without introducing reflections. They can also be used as a standard ND filter with all HD video and film cameras. This filter is available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 stop densities.
